Certified Veterinary Technician

Erica graduated from the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician Program in 2021 and became a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in April 2022 after passing the VTNE boards.

Erica's journey into veterinary medicine began with her involvement in the North Sangamon 4-H Club, where she spent seven years exploring various aspects of veterinary science. Her projects, which included equine dentistry, nutrition, spaying and neutering, biosecurity, and veterinary careers, ignited her passion for the field.

Erica is an avid horse enthusiast, with aspirations to own her own horse in the near future. She is also interested in gaining experience in veterinary technician specialties, particularly with large animals like equines. When she’s not working, Erica enjoys spending time with her family, her dog Missy, and her two cats, Jet and Daisy. She is actively involved in her church and pursues creative hobbies such as leather crafting, photography, and art projects for the state fair.

Erica has a keen interest in dental radiography and is known for her patience and dedication. Her enthusiasm for learning and her commitment to applying that knowledge effectively are highly valued by clients and colleagues alike.

Erica is driven by her desire to set a positive example and her eagerness to continually learn and refine her skills. She believes that a strong willingness to learn and a dedication to applying that knowledge are key to her success in the field.

One aspect of Erica’s work that often surprises people outside the field is the range of skills involved in veterinary care, including the intricate work of dental radiography. Her ability to handle complex procedures and her dedication to ongoing learning are essential parts of her role.
